Submit Articles to the Reconstructive Review

Instructions to Authors

Please visit ReconstructiveReview.org to submit an article for review and publicaiton in the Reconstructive Reivew. All material to be considered for publication should be submitted via this online submission system.

For assistance on how to register onto this system and how to submit a manuscript please follow the guidelines posted on the site.

Author Preparation Instructions

Before submitting an article to ‘Reconstructive Review’, please follow the author preparation instructions below.

Article Types

Reconstructive Review accepts the following categories of articles:

  • Original Articles
  • Basic Science
  • Case Reports
  • Clinical/Surgical
  • Commentary
  • Controversial Issues (i.e. modularity, tapers, MoM, etc.)
  • Historical Reviews
  • Letters to the Editor
  • Surveys

The emphasis for these subjects is to address real life orthopaedics in a timely fashion and to encourage the participation from a broad range of professionals in the orthopaedic health care field.

We will strive to be responsible and reactive to the needs expressed to our editors and all members of JISRF. We anticipate our format will evolve as we move forward and gain more experience with this activity. Your opinion is a critical step to our motivation and overall success. Please do not hesitate to communicate with us.

Formatting Requirements

There are no strict formatting requirements but all manuscripts should be divided into clearly defined sections and contain the following elements:  Abstract, Title page (with author information), Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusions.

File Formats

  • Manuscript .doc/.docx files are our preferred file type to be submitted as a single file. PDF’s are not acceptable for submission.
  • Figures and Tables should be high quality (.JPG) images (at least 150 dpi, 300 dpi if possible).
    All photographs and continuous tones should be at least 300 dpi (dots per inch), illustrations and line art should be at least 1200 dpi.

Submitting Your Article

Please read the following information carefully to ensure that the review and publication of your paper is as efficient and quick as possible. The editorial team reserves the right to return manuscripts that have not been submitted in accordance with these instructions.

All material that you would like to be considered for publication on Reconstructive Review should be submitted electronically via ReconstructiveReview.org.

Once you have prepared your manuscript according to the information provided below, detailed instructions on how to submit your manuscript online can be found at ReconstructiveReview.org.

Manuscript:

    • Title Page – please list all authors that have contributed to the submission. Please list their title, full name, their association with the paper, their full postal address and email. Please list all authors in the order that you want them to appear.
    • Manuscript- please use the article type and file format information above to provide the correct information.  Your submission should follow this structure:

Informed consent:

  • Any manuscript dealing with human subjects must include a statement that proper disclosure was given and patient consent was received.

Copyright agreement:

  • All articles published are the property of  Reconstructive Review. However, the journal gives blanket permission to copy as long as proper notification and recognition are provided to JISRF.

Note: When your paper is submitted to Reconstructive Review, the co-authors listed will automatically receive an email which will contain questions relating to the ‘Copyright agreement’.

Disclosure statement:

  • Disclosure by all authors as to any commercial interest must be made by the corresponding author and all co-authors.

  • It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure compliance and full disclosure of all co-authors. From your author main menu you will be able to monitor the responses received from the co-authors that you associate with your submission

Reconstructive Review Production Specifications

The Reconstructive Review is currently constructed using InDesign running on a Mac. The document is published on the web, available for download as a PDF at jisrf.org, and printed in limited quantities.

  • No Bleeds
