MSA™ Total Hip Arthroplasty

A new approach to a more conservative treatment for the younger more active patient.

JISRF is conducting an international clinical / surgical study group with leading hip surgeons on this new exciting approach to Hip Arthroplasty.

The design concept and surgical teams both in Australia and the United States are being directed by The Executive Director of JISRF, continuing in the traditional established by Prof. Charles O. Bechtol, M.D. (1971)

A comparison of the MSA™ Neck Sparing Stem with a conservative bone resection vs. a Zweymuller style cementless stem.
MSA™ Muscle Sparing Approach
Saves both hard and soft tissue as compared to traditional cementless stems.
Zweymuller style is 1979 implant technology. Good historical results, however, we can save more bone and soft tissue with the MSA™ Neck Sparing Stem

Dr. Ian Woodgate from Sydney Australia has implanted the first few MSA™ stems with excellent results.
